Subwassertang
Subwassertang is one of our owner's FAVORITE plants, and for good reason. This stuff is SO cool. It has soft, wavy green growth that almost looks like seaweed growing in your freshwater tank.
Even though it looks a lot like moss, Subwassertang isn't actually a moss! It grows into loose, flowy clumps that can be attached to driftwood and rocks or left to grow freely in the aquarium. It's an easy, slow-growing plant that doesn't require CO2 or high lighting, making it a great option for low-tech tanks.
And if you keep shrimp, this is an especially good one. All of those folds and layers create tons of surface area for biofilm to grow, giving shrimp a natural place to graze while also creating little hiding spots for shrimplets.

Adding Subwassertang to Your Aquarium
Subwassertang doesn't need to be planted in substrate. You can attach it to driftwood, rocks, or other aquarium decor, or simply let it grow freely. Give it some time to get established and it will slowly grow into those really cool, loose, seaweed-looking clumps.
All plants may contain snails or snail eggs. We keep them in all of our tanks for the benefits they provide.
