This is NOT a plant that can be completely submerged in water. This plant needs to have the roots submerged with the rest of the plant floating along the surface. It's best for Ponds, Paludariums, and/or other similar setups. Additionally, it can be placed in a hang on back filter.

It really does smell like mint! Aquatic Mint is just like any other mint and can be a highly invasive species so plant accordingly. Its leaves will release a pleasant mint scent and the leaves are edible. Now if you use chemicals in your water I wouldn't suggest eating it, but if you have a nature aquarium with no chemicals being added go for it. The leaves of this plant need to stay dry but the roots can be in water. It will creep around where ever you plant.
