A moss ball is not actually moss at all, it's a form of algae. Don't worry though it isn't a problem algae like other types we see in the tanks from time to time. It grows into a round spherical ball naturally and has a very soft texture. It can grow quite large over time so propagating is a good idea once it reaches a large size. You can propagate it easily just split it in half and roll it around in your hands a bit to form a new ball. This can be done several times to form many new plant. Its an excellent plant to filter your water of excess nutrients or nitrates produced from fish waste.
Most plants are sold as trimmings from rooted plants unless otherwise stated. All trimmings will be at least 3" in height unless otherwise noted.
