More About Buce:
Bucephalandra is a relatively new rare plant into the hobby. Don't let that scare you, they are quite easy to grow. They are mostly from South East Asia and are actually in danger of being wiped out due to deforestation on the islands they are found on. Luckily with their popularity gaining in the aquarium hobby they will live on in our tanks. They are truly beautiful plants that all have subtle differences to leaf shape, coloration, and size. They can be grow in both in aquariums and paludraiums. There are hundreds of buce varieties that exist and new ones are being discovered every day. This plant grows similar to anubias as it grows along a rhizome and sends off leaves from it. They do best when tied or glued to rocks or drift wood and should not be planted in the substrate. They are extremely slow growers and take up too 2 years to fully convert in their "submerged" form. As the plant matures in your aquarium the new leaves will become more delicate and have a more intense color to them. To propagate just trim a portion of the rhizome with leaves off and place somewhere.
Most plants are sold as trimmings from rooted plants unless otherwise stated. All trimmings will be at least 3" in height unless otherwise noted.
