Cryptocoryne Lucen is a lot like Lutea, except it is smaller and requires a little less light. Cryptocoryne Lucen stands up, as opposed to flopping over horizontally. Depending on the lighting, either the leaves will grow tall towards the light or more horizontal. Cryptocoryne Lucen can be propagated by uprooting the whole plant and plucking baby plants from the side of the main root.

Cryptocoryne Lutea likes to stand up, as opposed to flopping over horizontally. Cryptocoryne Lutea requires a bit more light than the typical Crypt. Depending on lighting, either the leaves will grow tall towards the light or more horizontal. “Araguaia” is a river system in Brazil and it is under this name that the plant has become known. There are many signs, however, that the plant is a Hygrophila lancea from Japan and Hong Kong.

The stem becomes 10-20 cm tall and 6-15 cm wide. It has compact, tight-sitting leaves and grows branches easily. Pinching of the stems maintains a bushy look. The colour is reddish brown to purple, promoted by good growth conditions. The growth rate is average for a Hygrophila.

This is a very unique plant. It can range from green to dark brown color. It grows like a stem plant but produces off side shoots like a Vallisneria. It kinda of resembles a palm tree as it grows. It is also very unique as you can either plant it like a stem plant and it will grow tall, or attach it to wood or rocks and it will grow short and bushy.

Most plants are sold as trimmings from rooted plants unless otherwise stated. All trimmings will be at least 3" in height unless otherwise noted.

Hygrophila pinnatifida originates from India. It obtains brown, patched leaves on the surface with a distinctive burgundy color underneath. It creates horizontal side shoots and the top shoots should be pinched out in order to maintain compact and attractive growth. The horizontal side shoots easily attach to both wood and rocks. Growth is moderate, stems 15-40 cm tall and 10-20 cm wide, and the color is attractive when planted in small groups with a plain background. Intense lighting ensures compact growth due to the plant's slow to medium growth rate.

This plant is very easy to propagate as well as you can take a single leaf and let it float around your tank and it will start to grow roots.
